Worked as an Emergency Room Psychiatric Consultant for a number of hospitals in several South Texas counties, assessing patients for homicidal, suicidal, or psychotic behavior.
Active volunteer in the community - Charter member of the Stone Oak Rotary Club in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Parsons served as the Club’s President in 2005-06. She has served at the District level in District 5840 as Rotaract Chair, District Treasurer, and as an Assistant Governor. Dr. Parsons is now serving as an Assistant Governor She is a member of the Oak Hills Rotary Club.
Dr. Parsons serves as the Vice Chair for the Del Shores Foundation's Board of Directors.
Dr. Parsons also volunteers with the Fiesta Cornyation Medal Sales Team as Captain and has done so for almost two decades.
